On 20 April, the Delegation of the Chinese city of Tianjin led by Mu Huaiguo paid a visit to the Central Mining Institute. Tianjin is one of the 4 separated cities of the Republic of China, it is one of the largest seaports in the world and at the same time a special economic zone.
The Institute presented the wide range of its services and rich experience gained during many years of cooperation with local government units. The discussions were focused on the environmental aspects of mining operations, which are one of the most important research and service problems the Institute deals with. These include, but are not limited to, the protection of building areas and structures in mining areas. The meeting with the Chinese delegation also raised issues related to the certification of machinery and equipment on the Polish market, carried out by the GIG Certification Body.
