Honorary Gold Medal and Special Award granted at INNOVA BARCELONA for the project “Optoelectronic System for Remote Measurement of High Temperatures (above 2000°K) in a Reactor of Underground Coal Gasification.” This device allows to conduct temperature measurement in the surface and underground UCG reactor. The awarded project presented an optical fiber connected to a constant scanning spectrometer by means of a flexible fiber, which enables in situ remote measurements and allows to transmit the optical measurement signals over long distances. The possibility of underground coal gasification process along with the temperature control of conditions prevailing in the reactor enables to obtain desired products of chemical reactions for specific applications in the energy or chemical industry.
The project “Mechanical Protection System based on Energy Dissipation Principle” was granted Honorary Gold Medal. This solution is used as a protection system in vertical transportation. The advantage of the new platform is the ease of installation, low weight and reliable mounting on the support.
The project “New Generation Modular Panel Support” was granted Silver Medal. The support stands out for its increased load capacity and resistance to uneven distribution of load in the area of a mineshaft. The advantage of this solution is the ease of installation and reliable attachment, faster construction process and reduced material consumption through the use of modules made of prefabricated, prestressed concrete panels.
More than 300 inventions from 15 countries were presented at this year's edition of the Exhibition: Belgium, Croatia, France, Iran, Malaysia, Malta, Morocco, Moldova, Poland, Russia, Romania, Thailand, Taiwan and Italy. The Polish exhibitors presented 71 inventions. As pointed out by the chairman of the jury and the panel of experts assessing Polish inventions, their high rating is the result of a very high level of solutions, the advancement in the research and implementation process, and the demand for the implementation of presented ideas.
