Management of Główny Instytut Górnictwa (GIG) have made a decision to implement The European Charter for Researchers and The Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers at the Institute, which were adopted by the European Commission on 11 March 2005. (Recommendation of the European Commission 2005/251/EC).
The European Charter for Researchers describes rights and obligations of researchers, institutions employing them and organisations financing research. They concern work conditions, development of academic career, mobility and scientific help for young researchers.
The Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers describes the rules of recruiting researchers, which should be followed by employers, providing equal treatment for all researchers in Europe.
In order to comprehensively implement the Charter and Code an internal analysis has been carried out at the Institute. It showed that it was necessary to complete or alter the existing regulations, or prepare new documents. As a result of the analysis was prepared „Human Resources Strategy for Researchers. Internal Gap Analysis and Action Plan”.
