On the 16th of February, 2018, a consultative meeting took place at the Central Mining Institute, with the participation of representatives of the Moravian-Silesian Region and representatives of the Marshal's Office of the Silesian Voivodeship, including institutions interested in cooperation within the “Coal Regions in Transition” platform. Issues regarding the revitalisation of post-mining terrains were discussed during the meeting, as well as other problems concerning regions undergoing transformation related to the gradual limitation of mining activities.
The Czech side, led by MEP Evžen Tošenovský, was represented by: Pavel Bartoš (FITE Chairman of the Board), Ing., Jiří Cienciala (Senator, representative of the Moravian-Silesian Region), CSc. Ing., Jan Březina (Chamber of Commerce of the Moravian-Silesian Region). The Marshal's Office of the Silesian Voivodeship was represented by Stefania Koczar-Sikora (Deputy Director of the Department of Regional Development) and Joanna Miśka (Team Coordinator for Strategic Planning and ROT Research of the Department of Regional Development). Jacek Szuścik (SRK S.A. Vice President of the Board) was also present, as well as the representative of the Fasing Maszyny i Konstrukcje Przemysłowe Sp. z o.o. company Sławomir Masarczyk (Representative).
