On January 21, 2026, a lecture by prof. Shimin Liu of Penn State University was held at GIG-PIB.
The lecture was titled: “CARDOX technology as an efficient tool for Gas Drainage Enhancement and Stress Management in the Coal Industry”.
The presentation was dedicated to the CARDOX technology – a tool for increasing the effectiveness of methane drainage and reducing the rock mass stress in coal mining.
The lecture served as an important platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience between the scientific community and industrial professionals in the field of modern mining technologies.
Representatives of the following institutions took part in the meeting: WUG, Silesian University of Technology, PGG SA, PKW SA, JSW SA, ZOK II Sp. z o.o. as well as GIG-PIB employees.
The event was organised in cooperation with the State Mining Authority, the Mining Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Katowice Branch, and the Polish Committee of the World Mining Congress.
