On 18 June 2026, we officially launched the first workshop of the GeoSolar project was held in Główny Instytut Górnictwa - Państwowy Instytut Badawczy, marking the beginning of a series of meetings that bring together project partners and experts to discuss the future of sustainable energy solutions for post-mining areas.
The first workshop opened with a presentation introducing the vision, objectives, and key assumptions of the GeoSolar project, providing participants with an overview of the project's scope and expected outcomes. The workshop focused on innovative solutions supporting the energy transition—from unlocking the potential of mine water and geothermal energy, through their integration with renewable energy sources, to the decarbonisation of district heating systems.
The event provided an excellent platform for exchanging knowledge and experience and discussing the future direction of the project. The workshop marked an important step in strengthening collaboration, fostering knowledge exchange, and shaping the next stages of the project.
