Laboratory of Experimental Installations

  • Conducting research and development works in the field of prospective chemical technologies of coal processing, including in particular:
  • process of underground, pressure or non-pressure, coal gasification aimed at acquisition of syngas with a high content of hydrogen and of gases for power use,
  • pressure, fluidized gasification of solid fuels in surface conditions,
  • direct coal liquefaction process aimed at the production of engine fuels and chemical raw materials,
  • processes of hydrogenation and refinement of coal-derived substances,
  • division and purification of process gases using membrane techniques and methods of absorption and adsorption, including the pressure swing adsorption - PSA,
  • separation of carbon dioxide from process gases,
  • use of gases from gasification processes for energy purposes.
  • Research and development works in the field of the production and storage of hydrogen for energy purposes and for the purposes of conducting chemical syntheses.
  • Performance of expert opinions and studies in the field of technical-economic and environmental aspects of the technology of chemical coal processing as well as methods of production and storage of hydrogen.
  • Feasibility studies and process projects of the technologies of gasification and liquefaction of coal and process gases purification.
